do-it-yourself headboard

I wanted to paint and make over our bedroom for a very long time:
the paint colour was boring beige, the curtains were too long, the bedding pattern was driving me crazy, the bed was on wheels–so every time you go into bed it would roll a foot from the wall, and the the lamps were cheap and falling down all the time…
it was time for grown up bedding, grown up lamps, a real headboard, and a fresh coat of paint.

I had the house to myself this weekend, so I thought, why not try to do it all myself in a weekend, spoiler alert… I did it, well sort of, with a little help from my old man.

Shop till you drop!

Today was a slow start— we have a little too much fun last night!

We shopped all afternoon. I found some nice things, and some dresses for two weddings coming up in June.

Yes I realize my new Laptop case and dress are both teal with white polka dots… it was not intentional — really!
